Lima, Peru – A Cuban old man identified as Luis Ángel Ocampo Velázquez, 74, has been missing in the municipality of Jovellanos, Matanzas province.
The complaint was made by his granddaughter Zea Giselle Through Facebookwho reported that the grandfather had left his home early on Friday, September 19 and since then is in an unknown whereabouts.
“Last location where he was seen: Apartments of El Telle, Carlota, Jovellanos, Matanzas; where he lives. Apparently, he went out early to cut firewood,” says the publication.
While it is not known with which specific clothes the missing person was, his granddaughter stressed that he normally wore pants and pullover. So far, relatives have also made complaints of the police and organized search groups.
“Grandfather has no dementia problems, nor does his memory fail, he has been our most faithful chronicler since my grandmother died. He is a grandfather and affectionate, to take care of us and be an accomplice of all his grandchildren,” Zea Giselle said.
Family members asked Internet users for help and offered the phone number +5351309467 as a way to provide any information.
The Cuban State does not implement any mechanism to make visible Cases of missing peoplenot even if they are minors or older adults, such as the Amber alert used in the United States. That is why most of the complaints are made by members of civil society through social networks.
To report a missing person, it is recommended that family members fill the file for missing alerts that do the search and pressure to more effective authorities.
