High officers carry out defense exercises on the Venezuelan coast

During the acts by the XX Anniversary of the Operational Strategic Command From the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (CEOFNB), the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro made three contacts with the officers who have conducted military exercises in the east and western country.

The first transmission was with the M/G Johan Hernández Lárez, who commanded the Insular Güire defense exercise, from the island of Pato.

“We are deployed with means and forces, URRAS (Fast Action Units) of Combat in the framework of the Cumanagoto 200 (…) Navigating in the area of ​​operations between the Gulf of Paria, Isla de Pato and Macuro,” he explained.

He said that the island, land, maritime, aerospace and defensive exercise began last Thursday and will remain in force for 72 hours.

Offensive, defensive and support actions are executed to consolidate the military, police and popular merger.

Another purpose is to increase the training of combatants and make a presence on the Caribbean and Atlantic facade, using the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), through the territorial defensive system that leads to the main effort to be executed.

Tactical tasks on the field of occupation are executed, as well as operations of attack on land objectives, as well as air operations, are activated.

Likewise, paratrooper launch exercises, simple and integral ambush, infiltration of combat divers, among others are carried out.

The defense of the country, as well as the fight against drug trafficking and smuggling, are the objectives set.

Other exercises is “protection of Venezuelan fishing vessels”, as well as electronic war actions, the officer explained.

He assured that the military, popular and police merger will defend the homeland until the last consequences and the vision is to maintain peace for the entire people.

Cumanagoto Operation 200 manages to stop 30 people

For its part, the M/G Juan Sulbarán, commander of the Cumanagoto 200 operation, during the second pass with the president, said from the Sucre state that 5240 troops have been used, 93 tactical vehicles, 23 vessels and 6 aircraft, which have been organized in 60 mixed combat warters.

The 15 municipalities of the State have been covered, as explained, distributing in 4 quadrants, where the entity’s fishermen and fishermen councils have participated.

As a balance of the operational results, 10 vessels, 12 outboard engines, 10 firearms, 7500 liters of fuel, destruction of 9 camps and the apprehension of 30 requested people have been seized and retained, all associated with drug trafficking, explained the officer.

«My commander in chief, the national territory will not be a platform for illicit drug trafficking. The FANB and citizen security agencies will continue to work tirelessly on the fight against drug trafficking, ”he said.

He ended by saying that the sovereignty of the territory and peace and tranquility of the population will be guaranteed.

Defense exercise of Cabo San Román 200

The third pass was made with the M/G Pedro González Ovalles, from the Paraguaná Peninsula, Falcón state.

The officer pointed out at the northernmost point, exercising coast defense strategies.

“In active and permanent offensive resistance,” he said, while describing that fast reaction units, mixed combat urras, motorcycle vehicles, trucks, armored, which allow the neutralization of the enemy were deployed.

They established a region of permanent surveillance and control, using remotely manned aircraft, radars, among others.
