Santo Domingo. – The director of the Emergency Operations Center (COE), retired general Juan Manuel Méndezreported Friday that Recent rains and storms have caused significant effects in several provinces of the country.
According to him SITUATION REPORT 511so far they are recorded:
- 2,555 displaced or evacuated people
- 3 affected roads
- 11 incommunicado communities
- 3 damaged bridges
- 31 Aqueducts out of service, which represents approximately 4.12% of affectation.
“We currently have 233 aqueducts in service and a total of 243 affectedimpacting more than 602 thousand people throughout the country. We exhort the population to stay alert and follow the recommendations of the local authorities, ”Méndez said.

The COE continues to monitor the situation and maintains coordination with local authorities to guarantee immediate attention to the affected communitiesespecially in areas with floods, cut roads and aqueducts out of service.
