The Executive Power extended for 60 days the state of emergency in the provinces of Putumayo and Mariscal Ramón Castilla, in Loreto, as of October 5, 2025.
The measure was formalized by Supreme Decree 120-2025-PCM, published in the newspaper The Peruvian.
During the extension, The Armed Forces maintain control of the internal order, with support from the National Police. The Joint Command of the Armed Forces will assume the Unified Command in these provinces, within the framework of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights.
The same way, The Executive extended the state of emergency in the southern road corridor Apurímac-Cusco-Arequipa, including 500 meters on each side of the road. The measure, in force since September 27 for 60 days, was formalized by Supreme Decree 121-2025-PCM.
In this case, Internal order control falls to the National Police, with support from the Armed Forces. Likewise, restrictions on constitutional rights are authorized, such as freedom of traffic, meeting and personal security, in accordance with article 137 of the Constitution.
The Government pointed out that these extensions are necessary to guarantee citizen security, maintain internal order and protect the rights of the population against threats of hostile groups and possible disturbances in the areas indicated.
