The Minister of Labor and Employment, Luiz Marinho, reported on Thursday (25) that, such as unemployment insurance, the qualification for insurance-benefit granted to people who survive exclusively from fishing-will be in charge of their folder from October.
Currently, it is up to the Ministry of Fisheries to register fishermen, which covers not only those who perform the activity for subsistence, but also as a hobby, as is the case of sports fishermen, the occasion and the weekend.
Subsistence
The federal government for the amount of a minimum wage (R $ 1,518) to fishermen who live exclusively from this activity, during the breeding period of fish, when fishing is prohibited.
This period is defined by the Ministry of the Environment and varies according to the species. The purpose of the measure is to ensure the preservation of these animals.

During the program Good morning, ministerLuiz Marinho said that the change of attributions to the Ministry of Labor is foreseen in a provisional measure that is being processed in the National Congress.
It is expected that the matter will be approved “soon”, according to Luiz Marinho.
“[Por enquanto,] We are not yet allowed to do, ”said the Minister of Labor.
“We are preparing to enable fishermen who are entitled to insurance.”
He compared the dissemination insurance procedures to the unemployment insurance: “The worker who becomes unemployed and fits the criteria and is qualified can receive the unemployment insurance, also by the Ministry of Labor.”
“We will then unify the qualification, both for work insurance with for defense insurance,” he added.

Fighting irregularities
Thus, the government intends to be better able to identify possible irregularities that would result in the payment of the benefit to those who are not right.
“It is not, in any way, to cut resources by the government,” says the minister.
The idea, according to him, is to catch those who are “enjoying a momentary fragility of inspection to have access to insurance that does not belong to him. We are just doing a suitability,” he added.
