AES Dominicana reported that the AES Andrés plant He restored its combined cycle operation, after the effects caused by the presence of sargassum in the area.
The generator, of 319 megawatts of natural gas, entered into operation at 9:00 yesterday, resuming its normal operations after the implementation of cleaning and intensive monitoring protocols in water intake, which guarantees the stability and safety of the service.
AES Dominican stressed that it maintains permanent measures to mitigate the effects of this natural phenomenon, which every year occurs with greater intensity in the region, ensuring the continuity and reliability of the national electrical system.

The company thanked the authorities of the electricity sector and the Navy of the Dominican Republic for the support provided in the process of cleaning and withdrawing from the sargassum, contributing normalization of the service.
