Tonight, the mayor of Lima Rafael López Aliaga attended the immediate vicinity of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers. The objective would be to meet with the Premier Eduardo Arana.
The burgomaster did not want to detail the reason for the meeting with the president of the Council of Ministers, although everything would point to the matter of the Lima-Chosic Train issue.
The meeting occurs a day after López Aliaga announced a “reconciliation” with the MTC, with the idea of evaluating the rail project.
While Minister César Sandoval was willing to dialogue, he maintained his technical position.
“I want to tell you something. With the MTC we have restored a friendship, seriously. I have called the gentleman and I said: ‘Look, this cannot be personal, here at stake the well -being of many people.’ But I have also called it for another issue. Here, by Huaycán, the new central road will come out (…),” he said during a public act in the ATE district last Monday.
Sandoval valued the willingness to dialogue of the mayor of Lima, but said that the technical position of the Ministry regarding the rail initiative will not undergo modifications.
“We do not have to accept the conversations. I greet the message where you have to deal with this issue from the technical point of view and have reflected. I am in contact with the Premier to see at what time the meeting will take place and carry out the project,” he said in a press conference.
