To eradicate pollution and protect marine ecosystems along the six thousand 068 kilometers of Venezuelan coasts, the Operational Committee for coastal areas was activated, an initiative framed in the celebration of World Beach Day and aligned with the vertex six of the Great Mission Mother Earth Venezuela, oriented to the sanitation for life, by the Ministry of Popular Power for Popular Power.
It is important to note that 15 of the 24 states of the country are coastal areas, so the Committee promotes mechanisms that have to do with the planning and management of plans in the territory, aligned to the sixth transformation of the Plan of the Homeland 2025-2031 and the Great Mission Mother Earth Venezuela, and also supervises the environmental programs, such as the sanitation of beaches, the reforestation of the coasts and the active participation in the National Plan Surveillance of coastal areas.
Among other tasks include, complying with the evaluation and revision and design of the Integrated Management and Management Plan of the coastal areas of Venezuela; evaluate and review the conservation and sustainable development policies of these areas; Cooperate in promoting information and data collection programs; monitoring of current problems that affect our coasts and finally design regulations and regulations for their application.
It should be noted that this committee also participates in the process of defining and regulating areas that, due to its ecological or socioeconomic characteristics, need to be declared areas under special administration regime (Abrae), this is crucial for the protection of fragile ecosystems and the management of areas called high interest.
