The Missionaries of Jesús Verb y Victima are in charge of the Parish of Guasimal (Sancti Spíritus), which belongs to the Diocese of Santa Clara.

The Missionaries of Jesús Verb and Victim are in charge of the Parish of Guasimal (Sancti spíritus), which belongs to the Diocese of Santa Clara and where the priests arrive only once a month. The religious “hold the fort” on a day -to -day basis, Icn says.
“We are happy to present God’s love here in Cuba and be a testimony of its existence for a people who seek it and need it so much,” She added.
ICN also reports that the bishop of Santa Clara, Marcelo Arturo González Amador, has asked the organization to help the Church in need (Aid to The Church in Need, ACN), support to raise a fence at the entrance of the temple due to episodes of antisocial behavior of some young people.
According to the ACN, there are boys who have been rude to the parishioners, who have even prevented them from accessing the Church, something that, according to neighbors cited by ICN, “offends both God and his house.”

He added: “His spiritual life is serious and serene. His apostolate in the most difficult and convoluted places is done with love, perseverance and fidelity. They deserve to be heard and supported by their requests.”
According to ICN, the Church of Guasimal remains open daily and parish life “has flourished” with regular activities for adults and children. The missionaries of Jesús Verb and victim attend the priests who come monthly to confess, celebrate masses and anoint sick. Recognizable for their blue habit, the sisters offer catechesis, spiritual guide and practical help to people in abandoned areas.
ICN recalls that the Congregation of the Missionaries of Jesús Verb and Victim was founded in Peru in 1961 and today is present in seven Latin American countries, including Cuba. Since 2015, his community on the island is based on Guasimal, an “extremely poor” area where, according to the report, there are more than 27,000 Catholic faithful for each priest.
