The mayor of Huancayo, Dennys Cuba Rivera, sent a notarial letter to the governor Fiorella Fabián, granting him a period of 72 hours to rectify the statement that he would have kinship with Betty Mirtha Candiotti Cuba, indicated as his aunt, who has hiring with the municipality.

During a press conference, the mayor presented his Reniec file and his family tree, ensuring that there is no family link with Mrs. Candiotti. “In the country there are more than 50 thousand people who are named Cuba and that does not mean that everyone has a family relationship with me”he emphasized.
The governor Fabián denounced alleged irregularities in hiring of the Municipality of Huancayo, which would have favored companies linked to the same family already relatives of the official Mersá Contreras, close to the mayor. According to the governor, the facts would have been given through 578 purchase and service orders for approximately S/ 5.8 million, and they were already informed of the Prosecutor’s Office specialized in crimes of corruption of officials.

Fabián called this network of alleged favoring “the great family of the management of Cuba.” Given this, the mayor denied any relationship with said network and affirmed that it corresponds to the Public Ministry clarify the facts. He also defended the municipal management, noting that the Municipality executes 150 million in annual investments, of which about 90 million are allocated to service orders, with more than 12,500 orders of goods and services, and assured that the contracts were made on a regular basis.
