Madrid, Spain.- A breakdown in a water pipe at Terminal 3 of the José Martí International Airport of Havana affected the immigration check area and forced several flights to terminal 2 on Monday night.
According to the Note published by the Administration From the airport on Facebook, the flights of the airlines Conviasa, Copa Airlines and Neos that had to operate at the end of the night and in the early morning were redirected to terminal 2.
The authorities said it worked in a “arduous” way to restore the service. Terminal 3 was again operable at 3:00 am
The state company Ecasa apologized for the discomfort caused and thanked the understanding of the affected passengers.
At the beginning of this month there was a blackout at the José Martí International Airport. On the night of September 3, 2025, dozens of passengers were dark in the terminals while waiting to enter or leave the country. Images and videos shared on social networks showed ranks of travelers moving with their bags in the light of mobile phones, a scene that put in question the state of the Cuban airport infrastructure.
Far from being isolated, these incidents add to a series of recurring failures in José Martí. In previous reports cuts have been denounced in the Water supply, breakdowns in the air conditioning systems and prolonged delays in processes such as immigration or the delivery of luggage.
The accumulation of incidents has aroused concern between users and observers, which warn about the deterioration of basic services in a key installation for tourism and the international connection of the island.
