Brazilian Beatriz Haddad Maia said on Monday (22) that she ended the 2025 season in advance. Paulista’s decision was announced a few days after the elimination in the Seoul WTA 500 (South Korea), which made it fall from 25th to 40th place in the simple ranking of the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA), its worse place since June 2022.
“Hi guys, I’m making this post to share with you that I’m ending my 2025 season a little before the scheduled to rest for a longer body and mind. Thanks to all my sponsors who walk side by side with me on this wonderful journey and full of learning that is the high performance sport.
In 2025, Bia added 16 wins and 26 losses in the simple disputes. Paulista was twice at the top -10 of the world in June 2023 and October 2024. On this last occasion, Seoul’s WTA title and the US Open’s quarterfinals – one of the four main tournaments of the circuit, the Grand Slams – yielded important points, which she could not defend in 2025.
