At the United Nations headquarters in New York, the Secretary of Foreign Affairs, Juan Ramón de la Fuentehe called the international community to take collective actions to end the “heartbreaking war” in Gaza, after the recognition that a genocide has been committed in the strip by the Independent International Commission that investigates in the occupied Palestinian territory.
During his speech at the High Level International Conference for the Pacific Arrangement of the Palestinian issue and the implementation of the Biestatal Solution, the Foreign Minister stressed that Mexico supports a high to the final fire and the release of the hostages.
“A fair, peaceful and durable arrangement is needed, based on the effective implementation of the solution of two states that allows a safe and prosperous future for all countries in the region,” he said.
De la Fuente highlighted the urgency of stopping the humanitarian crisis and initiating recovery and Reconstruction in Gazawhere the declaration of famine has already been confirmed. In this sense, he reiterated that the long -term security of Palestinians and Israelis will depend on a political solution that guarantees coexistence.
The Foreign Minister recognized the efforts of the mediating countries and pointed out that any fair and lasting resolution must rely on “narratives that humanize the problem, counteract the division and promote the acceptance of the other.”
