37.a edition of Peruminconsidered the most important mining convention in the region, begins today and will take place until September 26 at the Juli Cerro Convention Center, in Arequipa.
The event hopes to gather more than 65,500 attendees and generate an economic impact greater than the s/100 million for the region, according to the figures of the organizers.
The meeting takes place in a space of more than 14 hectares that houses six exhibition pavilions, machinery areas and maneuvering patios. In total, more than 1,200 stands distributed in 29,000 square meters are presented, with the participation of 740 public and private organizations. In addition, nine international delegations from America, Europe and Oceania join this edition.
Jimena Sologuren, president of Perumin 37, said that this space will bring together the main actors of the international mining industry to understand the challenges of this new transition cycle to a cleaner economy, which places mining in the center of the change, and to build proposals that guarantee a truly sustainable development.
“During these days, Peru becomes the world mining capital. And it does so at a crucial moment, marked by the economic challenges we face as a country and by an upcoming electoral process that demands vision and responsibility,” he said.
The activities are carried out under a security plan aimed at guaranteeing the order and tranquility of the attendees during the five days of the Convention.
The program includes the Mining Summit, the main space for debate on investment, public policies and new technologies; the TIS forum, a technical encounter of greater relevance in the country; and the Allied country forum, focused on sustainable mining. They also highlight the Energy Transition Forum, the Water Forum, the Forum for Equity and Inclusion, as well as the International Meeting, where experiences from different countries will be exhibited.
