A credit line that makes it possible to settle or amortize debts of rural producers whose activities were harmed by climate events was created by the federal government. The measure is contained in Resolution No. 5,247published in Official Gazette of the Union this Monday (22).
According to Planalto, the resolution creates a rural credit line of up to R $ 12 billion will allow to settle or amortize installments or rural credit and investment operations.
The measure includes operations that have already been the subject of renegotiation or extension, contracted to the support of the National Program for Strengthening Family Farming (Pronaf), the National Rural Producer Support Program (Pronamp) and hired by other rural producers.
Rural product banknotes (CPRS) operations are also included, provided that:
- They were originally contracted or issued until June 30, 2024, which were in a situation of default on June 30, 2024, and which were in default on 5 September 2025;
- They have been renegotiated or extended to the amount of the installment or operation expected for the period from September 5, 2025 to December 31, 2027 and are in a situation of compliance on the date of hiring this line of credit.
Rural and cooperative producers
The credit line will benefit rural producers and agricultural production cooperatives as rural producer.
“The funded venture must be located in municipalities that have decreed a public calamity or emergency situation in at least two years from January 1, 2020 to 31, 2024, due to floods, flooding, hail rain, heavy rainfall, cold wave, frost, gimmuff, drought or drought, with recognition of the Ministry of Integration and regional development,” Plateau.
They can also access the credit line, “producers who have two losses of at least 20% of the average production of production in at least two of the three main agricultural activities, taking into account criteria for calculating the loss, determined by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock.”
The credit line will have the following limits:
- Up to R $ 250 thousand for Pronaf beneficiary;
- Up to R $ 1.5 million for Pronamp beneficiary;
- Up to R $ 3 million for other farmers.
The reimbursement will have up to nine years, included up to one year of grace, according to the borrower’s ability to pay.
Interested in accessing this credit should be aware of the deadline for hiring, which runs until February 10, 2026.
