However, it is the party of the heiress of Fujimorismo that has rejected in various opportunities the role of the Inter -American Court of Human Rights (IDH Court) on Affairs of Peru, calling it “interference.”
The first case happened in 2022, when the IDH Court ordered the Peruvian State not to free Alberto Fujimori, noting that doing so would violate our country’s international obligations in human rights.
Given this, the Fujimorista congressman Fernando Rospigliosi accused the international body of being a “Caviar Court: hopefully this Caviar Court does not continue to put his hands in Peru, which has been doing impunity”
“That Court has nothing to do with this matter, that all he has done is to delay the measure so that he dies in jail. That is a channeled and no more interference of this type should be tolerated,” he added on Channel N.
Another moment of tension between Fujimorismo and the IdH Court was this year, when the entity ordered the Peruvian State to apply Law 32419 (‘Amnesty Law’) for considering it incompatible with the American Convention on Human Rights.
This situation generated that the Popular Force congresswoman, Martha Moyano, to ensure that the measure is “anticonventional” and consider that respecting international treaties with national sovereignty should be balanced.
Likewise, congressman Fernando Rospigliosi said that the Government must be asked to initiate the procedure for the withdrawal of Peru of the Court IDH: “It is already being overwhelmed, telling Congress what laws it can approve.”
“We must claim to the government to initiate the procedures to get out of that court that has a clearly properrorist position and against the military and police of Peru that defeated terrorism,” the parliamentarian concluded.
