Mayor of Lima after passing through Europe summons dialogue to the Minister of Transportation

The mayor of Lima, Rafael López Aliagahe returned from his international tour and used his social networks to announce that he will seek dialogue with the Minister of Transport and Communications (MTC), César Sandoval, in order to solve the issue of the Lima-Chosic train.

Through its X account, the burgomaster revealed that it had a “long meditation process” so it will now seem to file roughness with Minister Sandoval and open a dialogue bridge for a technical meeting.

“Already in my beloved I want to invite, after a long process of meditation, in Madrid, Rome and Washington, the Minister of Transport and Communications and the Premier, a technical meeting, prioritizing the well -being of East Lima, to find a solution to the pending topic,” reads his message.

As is known, the relationship between the Municipality of Lima and the MTC was affected after its managers did not reach agreements regarding the trains donated by the company Caltrain so that they are used on the Lima-Chosic Cercanías route, one of the great works announced by López Aliaga as part of its management.

Minister Sandoval presented a series of objections and problems to the train project, even presenting technical reports that ensured the unfeasibility of donated trains, a fact that was rejected by the Municipality of Lima and motivated the lack of presence of the mayor of Lima in the technical meetings convened until then.

In this regard, López Aliaga accused Minister Sandoval of putting obstacles to the railway project and privileging political interests. As stated, the minister plans to leave his position in October to apply for Congress.

Now, after a long meditation, in the words of the mayor, it seems that he is willing to establish new meetings not only with Minister Sandoval, but with the Premier Eduardo Arana in order to achieve the viability of the announced Lima-Chosic Train.
