A fire broke out during the early morning of this Sunday “in an area of the Antonio Maceo thermoelectric (Renté)”, in Santiago de Cuba. The fact did not leave deceased or injured, according to reports from the place.
The Fire Department, together with other organizations, had managed to extinguish the flames at 6:00 am, although it was worked “in the cooling of some sectors”, according to the information provided on Facebook the user Aris Arias Battle. The fact began at 1:00 am.
According to statements to the local telecentro of Jesús Aguilar, general director of Renté, despite the fire the thermoelectric plant was operating with its three blocks, “each of them with its limitations.”

For the extinction of the flames, members of the Fire Department of the municipality of Songo La Maya and “two techniques of the province of Granma, who joined to avoid the propagation to other areas of the thermoelectric area,” noted the information.
