By making known the results of the search days north of the capital, the prosecutor Bertha Mayor Luján He explained that this border area between the State of Mexico and Mexico City is where crimes and suspicions of disappearance of people are most reported.
He affirmed that for these days 4,255 people were deployed, with support of 28 canine binomials and 11 drones, in 216,000 square meters of the Cola de Horra and Vicente Guerrero hills, located in the Sierra de Guadalupe, which covers the mayor of Gustavo A. Madero and the Mexican municipalities of Tlalnepantla, Tultitlán and Ecatepec.
One of the most relevant findings in the search days, which took place between the August 26 and September 18, It was the rescue of a person who presented signs of violence and had a current search bulletin. The Capital Prosecutor’s Office stressed that the victim was transferred to a hospital and her family was already notified.
Another of the findings were 11 indications that could possibly be human remains and diverse garments that were under shelter for their forensic analysis and will be analyzed to determine whether they are people as disappeared or if they were subject to any crime.
He added that the methodology used for the search for indications in the Sierra de Guadalupe was known as Search by patterns, which starts from the grouping of cases with common characteristics, such as location, criminal operability or profile of victims to design effective strategies for their location.
Under this modality, the capitalist prosecution and her forensic team worked on a hypothesis of 183 cases linked to the area, 164 of them directly related to the Vicente Guerrero hill.
“The Sierra de Guadalupe has been identified as a space used for the concealment of bodies due to its geographical and contextual conditions,” said Bertha Mayor.
The local prosecutor thanked the participation of groups and seeking families, whom she recognized for the work they do for their loved ones and added that the located indications will be subject to genetic identification studies to determine if they correspond to any of the cases investigated.
