Huancayo: politicians think about requesting illegal for Popular Force and annular registration of elections

The request of the prosecutor of the Nation Delia Espinosa to cancel registration and declare illegal to the Popular Force for Antidemocratic behaviors, such as promoting attacks against figures that seem uncomfortable and justifying violations of human rights, has lit the political debate in the country and, particularly, in Junín. Local leaders and authorities expressed opinions found; While some ask that due process and the right to political participation be respected, others support the possibility of an exemplary sanction if irregularities are proven. The National Jury of Elections (JNE) will be the entity that, ultimately, must rule. The positions range from a call to prudence to the complaint of political persecution. Next, the statements of local politicians:

David Jiménez – Congressman of the Republic

  • “The attempt to declare illegal to Force Popular is a blow to democracy and the right of millions of Peruvians to participate in political life. Popular Force does not give up or bend.”

Luis Ortiz Soberanes – Leader of the Defense Front

  • “We live in a rule of law and no one can disobey the laws. If it is demonstrated that there are irregularities, the organization must be sanction and declare illegal. The laws are not of adornment.”

Dimas Aliaga – Candidate for Region 2026

  • “Although Popular Force has questions, it must be the population that punishes or supports at the polls. If they are withdrawn now, they will be victimized. Let them participate to feel the rejection.”

Sabino Blancas – MPH Regidor

  • “I am surprised that President Dina Boluarte supports Popular Force when she used to keep silent before other abuses. That they let them participate and will see that they are rejected.”

Pedro Morales – Politician

  • “We are in a rule of law and any complaint must follow its due process. But getting a political party out of registration is an excess and inopportune, more in full electoral process.”
