Likewise, Rodríguez Dávila said that “the accident occurred south of the town of Peralejo in the municipality of La Sierpe” and that “a commission of the Civil Aeronautics Institute of Cuba investigates the causes of this accident.”

Previously, on April 11, 2024 another accident that involved a helicopter It happened while the aircraft “fulfilled mission in the interest of the Revolutionary Armed Forces (FAR)” and rushed to land at the “Antonio Maceo Grajales” International Airport in Santiago de Cuba.

Because of the accident, the three helicopter crew members died, identified by the FAR as Major Dairon González Espinosa, first Lieutenant Carlos Enrique Frometa Rodríguez and Lieutenant Yunier Céspedes Escalona.
