Relatives and defenders of activists grouped in the Committee for the Freedom of Political Prisoners in Venezuela (CLIPPVE) denounced the “cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment” against the detainees for political reasons and their relatives, while demanding their immediate freedom.
This Friday, September 19, the second global route for justice in front of the Italy Embassy in Caracas. “Arbitrary arrests have climbed to any citizen,” said Diego Casanova, a member of the Committee.
In the same way, he denounced the harassment of which they have been victims during the global route for political prisoners: “In all activities there is always a police presence, hinder symbolic protests and record us without consent. This is already something abusive and recurring.”
The Committee asked the Italian Embassy to support the “Canonization without political prisoners” and their solidarity for the more than 30 European citizens detained in the country. According to the Criminal Forum Registry, there is an Italian citizen in Venezuela and six with dual nationality, for a total of seven.
Suspicious device

According to the information, the incident occurred in El Rosal, in front of the Italian Embassy in Caracas. The type of device and its purpose are unknown.
Before the complaint, Marino Alvarado, a member of Prova, said in social networks that the persecution of relatives of political prisoners attempts against the right to organize and carry out activities to demand their freedom. “Today ‘new’ intelligence agents were replacing those who are generally harassing,” he said.
This Thursday, harassment was reported and an attempt to arrest by unidentified subjects to Andreina Baduel, after protest in favor of freedom of political prisoners.
The second global route for Justice began on Monday 15 and concluded this Friday, September 19. During the week, the activists toured the embassies of Spain, Switzerland, Bolivia, Germany and Italy.
