Hernán Bermudez faces possible sentence of 158 years: Tabasco prosecutor

In an interview with local media, the state prosecutor explained Friday that the former collaborator of the Morenista, Adam Augusto López, is accused of kidnapping crimes, criminal association and extortion.

He explained that the imputation formulation hearing against Bermúdez Requena is held virtually with the intervention of a Villahermosa Judge and the detainee.

Bermúdez Requena is held in the Federal Maximum Security Criminal of El Altiplano, in Almoloya de Juárez, State of Mexico, after being transferred from Paraguay, where he was arrested a week ago.

The Tabasco prosecutor said that the Public Ministry already has sufficient documentation to support his accusations before the control judge, Ramón Adolfo Brown Ruiz,

“The penalty that would reach for the kidnapping is 50 to 100 years, as far as the criminal association from 7.5 to 18 years, and for the extortion of 20 to 40 years, that is the penalty that would be reached in case of being sentenced,” he said.

Óscar Tonatiuh Vázquez Landeros said that the hearing that is held this September 19 is for the crimes committed within the territory of the State of Tabasco and clarified that it will be the Attorney General’s Office of the Republic that determines whether it attracts the case or carry parallel and independent investigations.

The Tabasco prosecutor revealed that other public officials related to the criminal gang “La Barredora” are sights, although he did not reveal names or how many are.
