On Friday March 25thon prime timetvN will premiere “BeastCamino al Oscar”, a special program hosted by the journalist Constance Santa Maria and that will include the exclusive broadcast of the Chilean animated short nominated for an Oscar.

“Bestia” is the fifth Chilean production to be nominated for an award from the United States Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
His story is inspired by Ingrid Olderockan agent who works in the Chilean National Intelligence Directorate (DINA) in 1975, in full military dictatorship.
His relationship with his dog, his body, his fears and frustrations reveal a frightening fracture in his mind and through the wound also that of an entire country.
In TVN’s “Bestia, Camino al Oscar,” Constanza Santa María will interview the director of the short Hugo Covarrubias and its producer, Tevo Diaz.

Since its premiere, the short has obtained high international recognition, being the winner of the Latin American Animated Short Film Competition of the Chilemonos Festival; it also won the PAOA Award for Best Latin American Short Film at the Viña del Mar International Film Festival; It has been recognized at the Guadalajara International Film Festival and chosen in the official selection of the prestigious Sundance Film Festival.
On Sunday, March 27, “Beast” will compete in the race for the Oscar in the Best Animated Short Film category, the same one where “Historia de un oso” won in 2015, a production that TVN also broadcast at that time.
And after the broadcast of “Beast”, the public channel will program the prestigious film also nominated for best foreign film at the 2021 Academy Awards, “the mole agent” from Maite Alberdi.
