Marina Silva is part of Forbes Sustainability Leaders

The Minister of Environment and Climate Change, Marina Silva, joined the List of Sustainability Leaders 2025 magazine Forbes. Marina is the only Brazilian to join the ranking, which highlights global leaders – entrepreneurs, investors, activists and scientists – ahead of initiatives to combat the climate crisis. Among the 50 names presented are Damilola Ogunbiyi, CEO and special representative of the Secretary General of the United Nations (UN) for sustainable energy; Wanjira Mathai, director for Africa and global partnerships at the World Resources Institute, and Sunha Sinha, founder and CEO of Renew.

According to Forbesthe honorees were chosen with the guidance of jurors such as investor Laurene Powell Jobs, widow of Steve Jobs; actress and activist Jane Fonda; the investor and climate financier Tom Steyer; The Clean Energy Entrepreneur Jigar Shah; and the founder of social impact Charlot Magayi.

According to biography provided by the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, Marina Silva is a teacher, environmentalist and Brazilian politics. Graduated in History, she has a specialization in Psychopedagogy and Psychoanalytic Theory. He is a doctorate Honoris causa from the Federal University of Bahia and the Chinese Academy of Silviculture.

It received dozens of national and international titles and awards. She was a councilwoman, state deputy and senator, always elected with record votes. He was also Minister of the Environment between 2003 and 2008. He played in the presidential elections of 2010, 2014 and 2018. He was elected federal deputy for Sao Paulo in 2022.
