Operation Caracas smiles has favored more than 660 thousand inhabitants in 88 communes of the Venezuelan capital city, through a territorial deployment that covers medical attention, rehabilitation of roads, food days and improvements in basic services. The initiative, promoted by the mayor of Caracas, began on June 8 and currently advances in its second phase.
The plan toured various parishes in Caracas, with interventions on roofs, pipes, citizen security and entrepreneurship support. “In this second round, we started with the tour of 12 parishes in 43 days, with 33 caravans of solutions that directly serve the communal circuits,” said the mayor of Caracas, Carmen Meléndez, on her Telegram channel.
He also said that each commitment acquired in the communities is incorporated into the concrete action agenda (ACA). “The objective is to guarantee effective responses in all sectors, with emphasis on the needs raised by communal spokesmen,” he said.
Caracas has approximately 299 communes and communal circuits. The strategy contemplates progressive coverage that strengthens the articulation between local power and basic organizational structures, depending on improving the quality of life in prioritized areas.
Operation Caracas smiles is consolidated as a direct care mechanism, with impact on sensitive areas such as health, food, infrastructure and safety. The execution of works and the delivery of supplies are part of a public policy oriented to social transformation from the territory with the plan of the seven transformations (7T).
