Arce responds to the proposal to extend his mandate

He President of the State, Luis Arce Catacoraresponded to the proposal of Senator Benjamín Vargas, which presented a bill to suspend the vowels of the Supreme Electoral Court (TSE) and extend the constitutional mandate of the government of Luis Arce.

The president clarified that Senator Pedro Benjamín Vargas does not belong to his bench. “National Government we absolutely oppose this bill and clarify to public opinion that we did not know, and that we are not part of this initiative or any other that seeks to alter the democratic and constitutional order, interrupt the electoral calendar and question the work of the TSE. The National Government is absolutely respectful of what the Political Constitution of the State and the popular will expressed at the polls dictates, “he wrote in a post that the first president published on social networks.

Later, he points out: “We exhort the national assembly members that the moment you want to deal with said bill is rejected without further processing, since the people need certainty regarding the realization of the second electoral round for the election of president and vice president of the Plurinational State of Bolivia. “

For the state president, “questioning the general election would put the social peace at risk that we have cared so much.”

Along the same lines, the president said that just Wednesday, the Supreme Decree was approved that guarantees the budget for the second round on October 19.

Finally, Arce ruled out any “possibility of the extension of the national government’s mandate and that on November 8 we will deliver the presidency to whom the population supports in the elections of October 19. Any attempt of the extension law is unconstitutional. Democracy and the will of the people are respected.”
