The rapporteur of the Amnesty Bill (PL), the Federal Deputy Paulinho da Força (Solidarity-SP)said on Thursday (18) that the text he will present will not be a total amnesty, as the Liberal Party (PL) of former President Jair Bolsonaro wants.
“[Anistia] Wide, general and unrestricted is impossible, right? This discussion I think has already been overcome yesterday, when Hugo [Motta, presidente da Câmara] He had a meeting of more than 3 hours with the PL staff. I think we’ll have to do something in the middle. This here may not like the extreme right, nor extreme left, but it pleases most of the chamber, ”he said.
The discussion in the House is around the approval of a bill that grants amnesty to those involved in the scammer acts of 8 January 2023. Bolsonaro allies argue that the amnesty also reaches the former president, convicted of the Supreme Court (STF) for more than 27 years in prison, in Judgment completed last week.
Paulinho da Força said he has a “left” and “right” relationship, who will seek governors to influence state benches and who expects to put the text in voting next week.
“It’s up to me to try to make this midfield there. That’s what I’m going to do. Talking to everyone so that in the end we can have a text that pleases everyone,” said Paulinho.

Questioned by journalists if the article would only be a penalty reduction, not amnesty, The rapporteur said “we are no longer talking about amnesty.”
THE Urgency of the amnesty was approved on Tuesday (18) with the support of most of the House leaders. With the urgency approved, the text can be voted at any time in the plenary.
The content of the text is in dispute, whether it will be a broad and unrestricted amnesty, as advocated by the opposition led by the PL, or a more restricted report, with only penalties.
Another question is whether the text should reach all involved, including organizers and funders of the coup attempt, or only the January 8 protesters.
Scammer
The Federal Supreme Court (STF) sentenced former President Jair Bolsonaro to 27 years and three months in prison for attempted coup, criminal organization, among other offenses.
Allies, generals and nearby advisors were also convicted, as well as hundreds of protesters who depredated the headquarters of the three powers in Brasilia.
The Supreme Court understood that former President Bolsonaro pressured the Armed Forces commanders to join a decree to suspend the election and the powers of the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) and thus remain in power.
According to the investigations, among the plans planned to nullify the 2022 election, was to murder President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, Vice Geraldo Alckmin, and STF Minister Alexandre de Moraes.
