Santo Domingo.– The Popular Board of Neighborhood Organizations and Community (Boardpo) commemorated on Tuesday its 36th anniversary with the deposit of a floral offering to the parents of the country, Juan Pablo Duarte, Francisco del Rosario Sánchez and Matías Ramón Mella, in the mausoleum of the Independence Park.
The activity was headed by the general coordinator of the entity, Ramón “Tito” Ramírez, accompanied by a wide commission of Historical Leaders of Boardpo, including Isidro Torres, Ángel Luis Rodríguez, Zoila Villa and Fausto Herrera Catalino. The tour began on the front of the Count’s door and culminated in the mausoleum where the remains of the nationality forgers rest.
The ceremony was attended byunion and political ideals, including Rafael “Pepe” AbreuPresident of the National Council of the Trade Union Unit (CNUS); César Antonio Soto, of fenticommc; the leader of the Peñagomista electoral movement, Rafael (Fiquito) Vásquez; and Fabio Ruiz Rosado, a historic leader of Asodemu in the UASD, who have accompanied Board in various social and labor struggles.
Ramírez highlighted the importance of that alliance, especially in the face of the defense of labor unemployment, which said some business sectors try to modify to the detriment of workers.
During the act, Isidro Torres recalled that Board It was created at the request of Dr. José Francisco Peña Gómez as an external coordination arm with neighborhood boards, base groups of churches and cultural clubs, in order to strengthen community participation and channel demands of popular sectors in cities and fields.
“With this offering we pay tribute to the men who gave everything for our independence and sovereignty, leaving us a flag and a free homeland,” said Tito Ramírez at the end of the ceremony.
