Santo Domingo.-The managers of the Higher Community Technical Institute of San Luis have an optimistic attitude of what technical education can do for the well-being of the Dominicans and the transformation of the country.
They ensure that their students have a 99 percent employability and that before finishing they occupy work places, and the entity, as such, is above the rest of the academies of their level.
José Ramón Holguín Brito, rector of the ITSC, affirms that “everyone who has and wants to develop his talent for something – without importing age – has his home there, as well as he who wants to contribute for his life and the country, has a place there and hopefully we can have many people who want to invent the future to have them there”.
By participating in the weekly lunch of the Corripio Communications Group, Holguín Brito, along with the Vice Chancellors Silvana Gálvez, academic; LINED BRUNO, LINK; as well as Francis Castro, Development and Research Innovation, and Herber Castillo, administrative director, highlighted the scope, incidence and positioning of this institute in the country.
As part of the higher education system, already differentiated from the rest, this entity attends areas not assumed by most universities, such as automotive, electricity, logistics and construction, high impact on national production, and the average level of health services, such as medical images.
“We represent in higher technical education only 3.2 percent. In other countries such as the United States, which is the one we think most, more than 18 or 19 million Americans are in the higher technical institutes, which work in the community. That is why our goal,” Holguín said after specifying that young people from all over the country agglutinate.
He specified that technical education covers the basic level, in charge of the Infotep; the professional technician, of the Polytechnic of the Minerd; and the upper technique, under the dependence of the Mescyt, and between these, the STIs and the ITLA represent 83 % and the most expensive, since the graduates learn by doing, 60 % of these in their laboratories.
If compared to other entities of the country and the region, they are the most and better equipped, and the idea is to turn it into a model to imitate and a high level of quality and efficiency.

Cost races
