The Latin American Science and Technology Society (SOLACYT) announced that Santa Cruz will be, for the first time, headquarters of the National Robotics Contest and scientific projects in Bolivia, in an effort for decentralization of science and youth innovation.
The event is will develop on October 24 and 25 at the University of Valle (Univalle), with the simultaneous realization of the contests Robomatrix and Infomatrix Bolivia. Both contests will open space to participants from school to the university, in categories that range from robotics, applied science and programming, to short films, digital animation, art and board games.
The young university student Yulin Jorge Wang Jallaza, Mechatronics Engineering student, 19 years old, he was appointed as the first departmental coordinator of Solacyt in Bolivia and will be in charge of the organization.
“We want this first regional headquarters to be a success and get perfect. We invite all students, from the little ones to university students, to participate and show their talent in science and technology, ”Wang told El Dute.
Next to him will be his brother, Yu Long Ricardo Wang Jallaza, who will support logistics as a student delegate, After having competed and obtained medals in previous editions of the Solacyt.
The National Delegate of Solacyt in Bolivia, engineer Mauricio Siles, highlighted the transcendence of the announcement: “This is a historical moment for science in Bolivia. Santa Cruz will be the first regional headquarters of the country and will allow more young to participate without logistics or economic barriers. We want it to be the epicenter of Bolivian youth innovation, ”he said.
With more than 20 years of experience in Latin America and seven in Bolivia, the Solacyt promotes science, robotics and creativity programs, giving scholarships, awards and the possibility of accessing international competitions. The winners of the event in Santa Cruz will have the opportunity to classify world tournaments with paid expenses.
