According to Marinho, of about 1 million domestic employers in the country, 80,506 are not up to date with their employees’ FGTS deposits. THE number of workers affected, according to the minister, is 154,063.

In total, The delay amount in deposits is around R $ 375 million.

“The ministry is not here to fine anyone. We are here to take care and ensure workers’ rights. We need to count, therefore, with the collaboration of employers,” said Marinho.

“Until October 31, they have the deadline to voluntarily regularize. Not doing, they will be notified and there may be fined,” he added.

Formalization

Luiz Marinho also spoke about the importance of formalizing workers in the labor market. According to the minister, in Brazil, There are approximately 60 million formal workers and 40 million informal.

“Formalization is very important, helps in various aspects in the economy, in social security, helps in the guarantee fund account, in the investment funds for housing, for infrastructure, for basic sanitation,” he said.

The minister also caught the eye on the False information that when having a work card signed, the worker will no longer receive social benefits, such as Bolsa Familia.

“There is still a legend that, when formalizing, signing professional wallet, who has eventually the benefit, loses the benefit. This is not exactly so, not automatic. Subscribe to the wallet without fear, because this is very important to you and your family,” he said.

Upper job

Marinho also pointed out that the country is with unemployment rate of 5.6%, the lowest in the historical series, which began in 2012. However, the minister criticized the basic interest rate in the country, today maintained 15% by the Central Bank.

“I’ve been complaining about this since May. In my assessment, it is overly high and it is necessary to enter the transition process. I hope this meeting will be a transition meeting to come with news, start a gradual reduction process, to collaborate with this already good environment of the job market.”
