Venezuelan ambassador has credential letters before the Asean in Yakarta

The ambassador of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Enrique Antonio Acuña Mendoza, presented his credentials to the Secretary General of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), Kao Kim Hourn, at the headquarters of the General Secretariat in Yakarta.

The delivery of credentials of the Venezuelan diplomat constitutes a fundamental step in the process of consolidating relations between Venezuela and ASEAN, especially at a time when both parties seek to deepen cooperation in strategic fields such as investment, tourism, cultural and academic exchanges, as well as the strengthening of commercial and business links.

The Secretary General of the ASEAN said: “It was a pleasure to receive it at the Asean headquarters for the presentation of their credential letters. I appreciated our exchange of ideas and their perspectives on the ways of continuing to strengthen the Asean -Venezuela relationships. He reiterated my warmest congratulations for officially assuming the position of Ambassador to the Asean, and I hope to work closely with you to continue promoting our relationships.”

The Ambassador Acuña reiterated the commitment of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela with multilateralism, southern cooperation and the integration of the peoples. He transmitted the greeting of the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro and the Minister of Popular Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, stressed that Venezuelan foreign policy is part of the principles of sovereignty, self -determination, independence and international solidarity.

Similarly, he stressed that Bolivarian peace diplomacy seeks to contribute to the strengthening of friendship and cooperation ties between Venezuela and the member states of the ASEAN, for the benefit of their peoples, inspired by the ideals of freedom, unity and justice of El Libertador Simón Bolívar.

The ambassador presented the serious situation of the danger that constitutes the military escalation by the United States in the Caribbean Sea, which threatens not only the security of Venezuela but of the entire region, which violates the decision of the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean to declare the region as a zone of peace and free zone of nuclear armaments.
