The Cuban Art Factory (FAC), one of the most recognized and innovative cultural spaces in Havana, was awarded this year in the Music Cities Awards 2025held in Fayetteville, Arkansaswith the “best initiative that uses music for economic, social or community development”.
These awards distingu projects from all over the world that use the power of the Music as an engine of economic, cultural and social change.
The recognition of FAC comes for its innovative model: an old oil factory turned into a multidisciplinary cultural center where contemporary art, live music, cinema, design and gastronomy, while promoting social inclusion and community commitment.
“This award is a recognition that goes beyond our team; represents the spirit and resilience of our vibrant community,” said its founder, the musician X Alfonso.
“Music has the power to unite, inspire and transform lives, and in Cuba art factory we have not been witnesses of first hand of how can promote social change and economic growth,” FAC said in his Award acceptance speech.
Every week, The programming of the Cuban art factory receives thousands of visitors, democratizing access to culture and offering a platform to support consecrated and emerging artists.
His educational workshops and social initiatives have consolidated it as a vital space for creative dialogue and cultural transformation in Cuba.
