A deserved and painful posthumous tribute surrendered to the Second NCO of the PNP, Luis Orlando Córdova Córdova, who died on Monday morning, after he was shot in the middle of an anti -drug police intervention in the human settlement July 28, in the district of Castile, last Saturday night.
The tribute was made in the police region of Piura, as far as the coffin loaded on the shoulders of his colleagues from the member of the Regional Intelligence Office (ORI), Luis Orlando Córdova Córdova arrived.
In the morning, the nightstick of the noncommissioned officer reached the police headquarters, where the Ori also works, where he worked for 7 years since he graduated from the Technical School of NCOs of the PNP of the Union with his promotion “Sentinela”.
His wife, the PNP NCOs also, Lucero Palma Calle, taken by the hands of both of them, looked and cried silently looking at the coffin of his beloved husband, because he promised him and swore that he would fight for his life, when he still remained aware in the Miraflores clinic, where he was evacuated in the first instance after being shot. Unfortunately, Córdova could not fulfill his last promise of love.
In the brief, but significant ceremony, the head of the ORI, Colonel PNP, Luis Pérez Quispe, highlighted the values and work demonstrated by Luis Córdova in said police unit.
“An intelligence agent who died fulfilling what for many is invisible, but for us vital, protecting the country from silence. The agent, Luis Orlando Córdova Córdova, was not only part of our unit was one of our best elements, a discreet, loyal, brave and committed professional. A man who knew how all that the path of intelligence does not promise recognition, but does demand sacrifices,” Pérez said.
He added that “as head of this unit I attest that this man fulfilled each mission entrusted his service sheet and especially his daily behavior show us a full and silently heroic professional. Today his name is written in that place reserved for those who not only served, but gave their lives for the safety of others.”
He stressed that his name will be saved in the living history of that police unit and that his example will be part of the formation of each new agent. “Your delivery will be a lighthouse that we won’t allow it to go out,” he said.
His Kepi was handed over to the non -commissioned officer’s wife and his body was taken to Chalaco, where he will be buried.
