“A scenario could be built that justifies a more favorable forecast for the end of the year, however, elections are coming and, usually, the exchange rate is affected to a certain degree as the electoral period is approaching,” he said.
He also noted that the strength of the local currency is contributing to maintain inflation at controlled and low levels, because it helps to have lower costs in products that enter the country and in the calculation of the electricity rate.
However, he warned that good scenarios for the sun could dissipate next year, because “it is difficult to conceive that the terms of exchange continue to improve in 2026 as they did this year.
“The impulse of the high prices of precious metals could lose strength next year, in addition, the world begins to show signs of deceleration, which is never good for Peru’s export prices. We estimate that, at the end of 2026, the exchange rate would quote in around S/3.60,” he said.

Last Monday, the dollar began the day at S/3.41, according to data from the Central Reserve Bank. With this result, the green ticket accumulated a drop of 7.18% so far this year and a setback of 7.62% to 12 months.
