Weeks ago, the National Health Superintendence ordered the liquidation of the EPS Medimás. For this reason, in the last few hours, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection announced the start of the process of distributing users to other EPSs.

“The Ministry of Health begins the process of reviewing the information of the users who until now are affiliated with Medimás EPS, in order to start the distribution of the same, to the receiving EPS, which will be those enabled in the territories in which currently operates Medimás“, said Iván Mesa, director of Assurance.
Until February 28 they registered 1,520,034 users affiliated with Medimásof which 600,306 are insured under the Contributory Regime and 919,728 under the Subsidized Regime.
Users are present in 232 municipalities in 14 departments Where did the insurer operate? Most affiliated in Norte de Santander, Risaralda, Huila, Tolima, Caldas, Bogotá and Quindío.
For its part, Medimás clarified that it will provide services to members until March 14, when the transfer begins according to the geographical location of each person.
By this date all users must have a new EPS and will have to last minimum three months in order to opt for a change of insurer.
The Superintendence clarified that affiliates they will not suffer disturbances in the processes or pending treatments (appointments, surgeries, exams), which will be guaranteed by the EPS to which they will be transferred in a process that will be known soon.

“In this sense, Medimás EPS must continue to guarantee the right to health of its members and their families until the last day it provides its services and the transition of its members to other EPSs takes place, in which they will be guaranteed quality, opportunity , continuity and health care“said the manager.
The transfer also includes the relatives of the affiliated person and the benefits and coverage that were being provided to them will be maintained.
