Toluca, Méx., President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo said yesterday that the triumphs of the fourth transformation are palpable in national life and represent the continuity of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador. He stressed that the movement that heads “has principles, has causes and results”, which is reflected in the decrease in poverty and inequality.
Sheinbaum visited Morelia and Toluca, where he closed the first half of his national accountability tour, in which he has visited 16 states.
In the Don Vasco Pavilion in Morelia, the president said that Mexico lives a historical moment in which the people have recovered their dignity.
“This is the time where the percentage of people in poverty in the country is the lowest in the entire history of Mexico, less than 30 percent. It is the triumph of the fourth transformation of public life and a man who remains an honor to name: President Andrés Manuel López Obrador,” he said in front of thousands of attendees.
According to official figures, he said that 13.5 million people have left poverty in the last six years, although he acknowledged that there is still a way to go: “There is still much to do, because we do not want a single family in poverty.”
The president also sent a message to migrant communities in the United States, to whom she offered permanent accompaniment of her government. He recalled his youth stage in Cheranastic, Purépecha community where he collaborated in community projects, and highlighted the solidarity of the original peoples as a fundamental teaching in their training.
Governor Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla declared that, with federal support, the payment to the Michoacan teachers has been guaranteed and expressed confidence that Mexico will exceed the challenges in its relationship with the United States under the leadership of Sheinbaum Pardo.
In Toluca, in a massive act that was attended by a broad contingent of the National Union of Education Workers (SNTE), in the Bicentennial Metropolitan Park, Sheinbaum reiterated that honesty and honesty “give results when working for the people.”
He remembered the principles of the fourth transformation – the poor first; There can be no rich government with poor people; With the people everything, without the people nothing – and stressed that the recent popular election of judges, magistrates and ministers represents a decisive step to consolidate Mexico as “the most democratic country in the world.”
There, a group of young people with covered faces momentarily interrupted the day by deploying blankets in which they demanded greater resources for public education, particularly for the Autonomous University of the State of Mexico.
In turn, Governor Delfina Gómez Álvarez thanked the federal support and endorsed her commitment to the Nation project.
With these visits, Sheinbaum closed the first stage of his accountability tour, which will continue in the coming weeks for the final report in the Zocalo on October 5.
