The PL officialized, on Tuesday (16), the federal deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP) as the new leader of the minority in the House of Representatives. The block opposes government support. Deputy Caroline de Toni (PL-SC), who was holder of this post, resigned in favor of the former president’s son, assuming as the first deputy leader. In practice, it will continue to represent the bench in the poll voting in the absence of Eduardo.
The maneuver aims to prevent Eduardo Bolsonaro, who has even graduated from the term between March and July this year, to live in the United States, where he has lived since, be revoked for faults in deliberative sessions. He has not recorded a presence in home voting for more than two months and could automatically lose his term from next year.

The exception of absences to party leaders mentioned by Sostenes Cavalcante is in a resolution signed by the then president of the Chamber of Deputies in 2015, Eduardo Cunha (MDB-RJ).
“We are protecting Eduardo Bolsonaro in what is within our reach, because he is exercising his mandate, is only at a distance from a will that is not his,” admitted Mrs Carol de Toni, after resigning the post in favor of the co -religionist.

Reaction
On the ruling side, the reaction against the maneuver in favor of Eduardo Bolsonaro is already being prepared. According to the PT leader in the House, Lindbergh Farias (RJ), the “measure is absurd” and should give rise to actions in the plenary of the House, the Board of Directors itself and even in the judiciary.
Last week, the leader of the petista bench had already made a criminal representation in the Supreme Court in which he asks for the custody of Deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro, as well as the immediate blockade of salaries and parliamentary funds paid irregularly to the parliamentarian who has been absent from the country for months of the country.
