The Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development, together with the National Parks Administration and the Federal Council for the Environment (COFEMA) held a meeting on Wednesday called “Environment + Diverse”, with the aim of disseminating the environmental agenda with a gender perspective and diversity, as officially reported.
This project has through six axis priority among which are: biodiversity, native forests, protected areas, climate change, environmental education and circular economy and waste.
This meeting also had objective of strengthening a space for dialogue, where experiences were exchanged and the work carried out by women and diversities from different communities in the country was made visiblespecified the statement.
We launched Ambiente+Diverso, a program to disseminate the environmental agenda with a gender and diversity perspective.

In this sense, the holder of the Environment portfolio, Juan Cabandié highlighted this activity and stated: “We are proud to be able to say that our Ministry has parity in terms of its positions.”
He also considered that “the best way to change course is to incorporate all perspectives and, of course, the gender perspective, which was bowed down for many decades, is the challenge that is imposed at this time.”
Also participating in the event was the Secretary for Climate Change, Sustainable Development and Innovation, Cecilia Nicoliniwho indicated that “the climate crisis deepens the vulnerability of people and there is no one in the world more vulnerable than women and diversities, because they are the poorest, those with the least access to resources, to justice”.
Strengthening the autonomy of women and LGBTI+, promoting decent living spaces and contributing to a fairer organization of care are the pillars of our policies with a gender focus.

While the Secretary of Environmental Policy in Natural Resources, Beatriz Domingorena stated: “If we look at history, we see that we have advanced, but we need to advance much more in this collective construction, where the environment has to be crossed by gender issues.”
