The National Public Health Week 2025 had “historical results” and the goal was exceeded with the attention of 26.2 million per-sonas throughout the country, which represents 131 percent of the estimated coverage at the beginning, the Ministry of Health (SSA) reported.
From September 6 to 13, under the slogan “Unidos and United for your health, building well -being”, the three levels of government, health entities and social organizations carried out vaccination campaigns, care in family clinics and hospitals, forums and conferences on well -being, care for health and physical activities, among other actions.
The strategy provided for 20 million people and the realization of 30 thousand activities. However, the results exceed these figures, since they carried out 35,668 health promotion and prevention actions, which represented a compliance of 118 percent compared to the planned.
Vaccination campaigns were performed, with the application of 7,862 doses against the Human Papilloma virus (HPV), as well as 385 thousand 955 doses against measles, mainly to protect childhood and prevent outbreaks of preventable diseases.
Meanwhile, the entity with the highest number of activities was the State of Mexico, with more than 40 percent, according to a publication in social networks of its governor, Delfina Gómez, who stressed that “more than 3 million Mexi-who came to their nearest health unit and received prevention actions, detection of diseases, as well as promotion of healthy habits.”
One of the campaign’s ambassadors was the Mexican diver-No Osmar Olvera, who in a video on the social networks of the Secretariat invited the population to perform a sport and stay active because “the body is the most important” and must be healthy, he said.
The national week was based on five key points: disease prevention and control to identify risks; Health intervention actions in early stages in girls, boys and adolescents; in pregnancies; care for health determinants, such as water and education; Mental care, as well as community participation and promotion of healthy environments.
