Godfather calls the US to respect sovereignty

The Minister of Defense, Vladimir Padrino López, called on the United States to “respect Venezuelan sovereignty”, while warning of the intentions of the US government to “assault a country and cause a regime change under the excuse of fighting drug trafficking.”

Through a video in his social networks, the senior military officer went to the people and American soldiers on the military deployment maintained by the North American nation in the Caribbean.

In that sense, he asked: “Is it necessary to initiate a war against its Latin American and Caribbean neighbors based on false narratives? Do you agree to use taxpayers’ money for the use of military force against humble fishermen?”

The minister assured that drug trafficking, issue that Washington uses as justification of its operations in the area, “fights with political will, dialogue and communication between nations”, in addition to intelligence procedures “with sensible and consistent programs, respecting the national sovereignty of states.”

“Only on that path we will be able to disassemble that terrible scourge that plagues the entire humanity,” he said, ensuring that “Venezuela has always been willing.”

He said that this offensive of the Donald Trump administration “what he is looking for is to assault a country and cause a regime change. It is not a fight against drug trafficking; it is a true farce.”

He called on the American military not to participate in this “activity so embarrassing that he is mistreating his honor. Is it a war that is foreign to you?” He asked.
