Havana Film Festival receives more than 1,600 works for its 46th edition

The International Festival of the New Latin American Cinema of Havana announced that for its 46th edition, planned from December 4 to 14, 2025, 1,638 works were registered, according to the directive of the contest in its official portal HabanaFilmfestival.com.

Of the total received, 1 044 correspond to films, 120 to posters and 474 to scriptshe said Latin press.

The call closed on August 15, and currently the selection committees work in the vision of films, the reading of scripts and the evaluation of posters to form the official selection.

Created in 1979, the International Festival of the New Latin American cinema Havana has established itself as one of the most influential cultural spaces on the continent.

Every December, the capital becomes a meeting point for filmmakers, critics and public from all over the worldwith the aim of spreading the best of Latin American and Caribbean cinematography, promoting new talents and reflecting on the social role of cinema.

In addition to the projections, the event includes workshops, master classes and tributes to great industry figures.
