In July, the Brazilian ports registered the largest monthly cargo volume in history, with 124.7 million tons transported, 73% of long distance navigation – export and import – and 20% cabotage – among Brazilian ports. 
In the first seven months of the year, the ports reached 780.4 million tons of cargo, volume 1.76% higher than the same period of 2024.
The Minister of Ports and Airports, Silvio Costa Filho, reaffirmed that the federal government has been acting to expand concessions and strengthen the national infrastructure.
“We focus on ensuring legal certainty and attracting new investments. This policy, led by President Lula, has been increasing the capacity of ports and strengthening exports in Brazil,” he said in a statement.
According to Sílvio Costa Filho, “the expansion of the capacity of our ports is fundamental to the national economy.”

The main cargo carried was solid bulk (minerals and vegetables), with more than 76.6 million tons. All types of load increased in July, compared to the numbers registered in the same month by 2024.
“Liquid bulk [especialmente combustíveis] They had an increase of 6%, while solid bulk movement increased almost 4%. The load growth in containers was 3% in the period and the general load volume was 0.9% higher than in July last year, ”said the ministry.
