Consequently, the head of the Chamber of Deputies, Sergio Massa, was summoned to the Casa Rosada after he met with the main representatives of Together for Change on Tuesday to discuss the text of the IMF.
During their meeting, the opposition assured Massa that it will not accept the agreement if adjustments are not made to the proposalboth in relation to the refinancing article and the economic program.
“Why are we going to vote for a text that says that inflation in 2022 will be 40% and that the emission will drop to 1%? They can’t ask us for that, it’s absurd,” Mario Negri told Sergio Massa. start of the meeting.
In the event that the project is finally not modified, Together for Change will promote a proposal, so that only the 44 billion dollar refinancing plan is voted on.
The ruling party remains divided before the agreement with the IMF
While the Casa Rosada is discussing whether or not modifications will be made to the document that was finalized with the organismthe ruling bloc is still looking for votes in favor of the initiative.
This is due to the fact that several of the deputies have shown their rejection of the project, some even refraining from participating in the vote, which would be very detrimental to the Government.
Added to it, Juan Grabois affirmed that his deputies will not vote in favor of the agreement, under the argument that “at IMF there will be no shortage of excuses to send us to default. It is a gun on the temples of Argentina”.
