In the last 24 hours Panama has registered 301 new cases of coronavirus and two deaths are registered and one from previous dates is updated for a cumulative of 8,125 deaths and a lethality of 1.1%.
According to the epidemiological report of the Ministry of Health (Minsa), a total of 758,613 people have been infected since the pandemic began two years ago.
To date, 747,483 people have recovered from the disease, while there are 3,005 active cases, of which 2,876 are in home isolation and 129 hospitalized.
The Minsa explained that currently those who are in isolation are divided into 2,846 at home and 30 in hotels. Those hospitalized are 108 in the ward and 21 in the ICU.
Regarding vaccination, the authorities highlighted that the country has applied 7,736,402 doses of vaccines against Covid-19. Of this, 3,3386,106 they have been applied in the first dose; 2,965,884 in second dose and 1,373,515 reinforcement.
A total of 252,836 have been placed in the child population between 5 and 11 years old, which represents a coverage of 39.6% of that group.
They highlighted that the coverage of the target population is that 85.3% have the first dose; 74.7% with a second dose and of the population aged 16 and over with a booster dose is 51.5%.
