Macarena González, daughter of the political leader Macario González, indicated that she was last seen at 1:00 pm on Friday at a meeting in the Teachers Room of the Fermín Toro University, in the Lara state. Popular will called the international community “to stay alert to this case”

Popular Will (VP) denounced this Saturday 13 the disappearance of the former mayor and former deputy Macario González, a member of his national direction, who would be in an unknown whereabouts since Friday afternoon.

“So far there is no official information about his whereabouts or about the circumstances of his disappearance,” VP warned in his X account, while demanding where González is and “respect for his physical and moral integrity.”

For his part, Macarena González, daughter of the political leader, indicated that she was last seen at 1:00 pm at a meeting in the professors of the Fermín Toro University, in the Lara state.

“My father is a husband, he is a friend, he is a brother, he is a grandfather (…) As a family and amikgos we have tried to articulate to try to have information about him and so far we fail to find his whereabouts,” said González In a videowho asked the authorities for information and a “faith of life.”

«We are afraid, we feel panic at this time so it can happen to him at this time, my father is 73 years old and despite enjoying medium health, with 73 years he is a heart patient who requires that his medication can reach his hands. We demand that they tell us where Macario González is, ”he said.

In this context, the party affirmed that the “persecution” continues to “climb” against those who “fight for a free Venezuela” with opposition leaders Edmundo González Urrutia, currently in exile in Spain, and María Corina Machado, in hiding.

They also called on the international community “to stay alert to this case.”

Last August, the Venezuelan NGO provided that in the country there has been an “increase in arbitrarily detained persons” and “subject to long periods of incommunication”, without relatives, lawyers and organizations knowing their “whereabouts or imprisonment conditions.”

According to the Criminal Forum organization, in Venezuela there are 823 political prisoners, including four teenagers held in minor detention centers in La Guaira and Lara.

*Journalism in Venezuela is exercised in a hostile environment for the press with dozens of legal instruments arranged for the punishment of the word, especially the laws “against hatred”, “against fascism” and “against blockade.” This content was written taking into consideration the threats and limits that, consequently, have been imposed on the dissemination of information from within the country.
