RD – Haiti border. – The Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Carlos Antonio Fernández OnofreERD, headed an extensive tour of the Dominican -Haitian border stripaccompanied by the advisors of the Executive Power.
These advisors work in police matters, John Huvane and the commissioner for police reform, Luis Ernesto García Hernández. The General Commander of the Army also participated, the greatest general Jorge Iván Camino Pérez, ERD, and the director of the Specialized Terrestrial Border Security Corps (Cesfront) Brigade General José Rodríguez Cost, Erd.
The day, which was developed from flint to Dajabón, allowed to inspect the main control and surveillance points, with the aim of verifying the security situation in the area and verifying the coordinated actions that the Armed Forces execute together with other State agencies.

During the tour, the companions verified the operations in progress aimed at strengthening security, facing the illicit traffic of goods and people, and protecting national sovereignty. Likewise, they found the advances in the construction of the 13 kilometers corresponding to the new stage of the perimeter fence, as well as the coordinated works with the General Directorate of Migration and the General Directorate of Customs.
These actions are intended to strengthen migratory controls, guarantee the traceability of the goods and ensure a safe and regulated border flow.
With this inspection, the Ministry of Defense reaffirms its commitment to the defense of national interests and the maintenance of peace and order in the border strip.
