Following the decision of the Supreme Court Minister (STF) to provide the trip to the Antonio Carlos Camilo Antunes INSS Parliamentary Joint Commission (CPMI), “the Bald of the INSS” and Maurício Camisotti, the president of the board, Senator Carlos Viana (Somos-MG) decided to file a security warrant to ensure the presence of the investigated.
Carlos Viana said today (13) that their presence is essential for investigations into fraud in discounts of retirees and pensioners payrolls.
“We understand that the presence of the two indicted, the two investigated, because they were committed to appear and they, in the face of parliamentarians, can even help us to clarify very quickly everything that happened,” he said.
The senator said he respected, but classified as unjustifiable the decision of Mendonça to provide the presence of the investigated. On Friday (12), the Federal Police (PF) served two court orders of pre-trial detention of Antunes and Maurício Camisotti.
The warrants were executed in the scope of Operation Cambota, which PF launched to deepen the investigations about the illegal collection of discounted associative tuition without authorization of social security benefits paid to millions of retired and pensioner
“I respect the decision of the minister, but I understand unjustifiable to give the right not to attend, since they are arrested and that it has much to say to CPMI. The work of the Federal Police and the Supreme is very different from CPMI,” said the senator.
Viana clarified that the commission does an investigation work. “We do an investigative line, including with the public service, with the State, to understand how all this social security theft has happened. We hope that Minister André Mendonça review the decision and allow us to force the go to CPMI, already on Monday and next Thursday,” he said.
