Through a statement, Coviandina He informed that as of this Monday, September 15, the transit will be enabled by the variant of the old road, between the K18+340 and the K18+980, within the framework of the operational contingency plan. The step will be taken for this alternate corridor and not by the double road.

According to the document, the poor condition in which the variant was forced to carry out additional works, such as sanitary, replacement of materials and the installation of pavement in the 680 meters of the intervened section. With these works, the progressive circulation of all vehicles will be allowed, including heavy load of up to 52 tons plus tolerance.
The plan includes three phases:
Phase 0: Vehicle passage in abastic (Villavicencio – Bogotá), El Uval (Bogotá – Villavicencio) and the Villavicencio road ring. The local mobility of the vehicles reported by the mayors will also be authorized.
Phase 1: After phase 0 (one or two days), the passage of passenger transport and heavy load from both capitals will be allowed.
Phase 2: Finally, the circulation will be enabled for all vehicles, with schedules defined according to the experience of the previous days. This stage could start one or two days after phase 1.
The concessionaire warned that the circulation of overweight vehicles will not be allowedsince they could deteriorate the newly paved surface. To do this, the controls will be reinforced at the Alto de la Cruz weighing station and surrounding areas.
